SOLVANG — After being selected for professional cycling’s Amgen Tour of California (ATOC) Individual Time Trial in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011, Solvang has not been chosen as a host city for the 2013 race, according to Solvang Local Organizing Committee Chair Max Hanberg and Tracy Farhad, Executive Director of the Solvang Conference & Visitors Bureau.
Farhad remarked, “The City of Solvang and the Local Organizing Committee put together a bid for the Time Trial for 2012 and for 2013 in the hopes of hosting it again, yet we were not able to meet the Tour’s increased hosting criteria and financial requirements specific to the Time Trial stage. We hope Solvang will be considered for future years and wish all 2013 host cities a great ride!”
