Santa Barbara’s Youth Football League has lost a true friend.
The passing of Linda Prosise on Sunday has touched many in the community this week and the Santa Barbara YFL organization is getting behind a pair of fundraisers in support of the Prosise family.
A letter to the community has been posted on the YFL website:
Dear Santa Barbara Saints Youth Football Family,
Linda Prosise
It is with great sadness that we let you know our loyal and faithful friend, Linda Prosise, passed away Sunday evening after a brief battle with lung cancer. The Santa Barbara Saints Youth Football League was Linda’s love and livelihood; she volunteered her time over and beyond what most people ever would. Linda loved being a part of the football community at both the high school and youth level. She traveled weekly to watch her family and friend?s children play. Linda was dedicated to her Tuesday and Wednesday office hours (and then some), she ADORED the coaches and referees, loved the kids, and running the clock at the games was what she loved doing most…
We will all miss her incredibly; she was the backbone of our organization.
This weekend all proceeds from our concession stand at Bishop Diego High School will be donated to Linda’s family to help pay for her funeral expenses.
In addition, Taffy?s Pizza is hosting a fundraiser on Monday, November 12. All day, 20% of the proceeds on all orders (delivery and to go orders included) will go towards helping with funeral expenses, all additional donations will be used to set-up a Player Scholarship Fund in her name. We will also have flyers available on Saturday at Bishop.
