San Marcos ran into another tough opponent at the Simi Valley Basketball Tournament. The Royals fell to Westlake, 92-64, on Wednesday night.
Kevin Hempy scored 16 points and Jake Wheelock added 15 points for San Marcos (0-2). Uriel Hurtado had another good outing with 13 points before leaving the game with an injury midway through the third quarter.
The Royals return to action on Friday against Golden Valley.
