With up to 6,000 runners winding through the streets of Santa Barbara and Goleta on Saturday, there are a number of street closures that will affect the public through much of the day.
A run-down of the planned closures are listed below. The Santa Barbara Police Department will direct traffic in sensitive areas while official course monitors will assist in the safety of runners/walkers and residents.

The 26.2 mile full marathon begins at Dos Pueblos High School at 7:30 a.m. The Half-Marathon begins at the Page Youth Center at 7:15 a.m. Both races finish at Santa Barbara City College’s La Playa Stadium near the harbor and Leadbetter Beach.
A 20-percent chance of rain will also factor into road conditions on Saturday.
GOLETA
Temporary Road Closure 6:00am -10 am
- Cathedral Oaks Rd eastbound from Calle Real to Cambridge Dr
- Los Carneros Rd southbound from Cathedral Oaks Rd to El Colegio Rd
- Storke Rd northbound from El Colegio Rd to Phelps Rd
- Phelps Rd westbound from Storke Rd to Pacific Oaks Rd
- Pacific Oaks Rd northbound from Phelps Rd to Hollister Ave
- Hollister Ave westbound from Pacific Oaks Rd to Calle Real
SANTA BARBARA
The major roads being impacted from 7:00am to 2:00pm in Santa Barbara are:
- Modoc Road – from Hollister Ave. to Las Positas Rd., eastbound closed, westbound open.
- Las Positas Road – from Modoc Rd. to Cliff Drive, southbound closed, northbound open.
- Cliff Drive – from Las Positas Rd. to Oliver Road., eastbound closed, westbound open.
- Meigs Road/Shoreline Drive – from Elise Way to La Marina Dr., eastbound closed, westbound open.
- From La Marina Dr. to Loma Alta Dr., both east and westbound closed.
- From Loma Alta Dr. going east both east and westbound are open.
- Loma Alta Drive – from Shoreline Dr. to Cliff Dr.
SBIM Modoc/Las Positas Area Detour Plan 7:30am – 1:00pm
- Modoc Road: eastbound closed from Hollister Ave. to Las Positas Rd., westbound open.
- Las Positas Road: southbound closed from Modoc Rd. to Cliff Drive, northbound open.
- Calle de Los Amigos: enter/exit to westbound Modoc.
- Ferrara Way: enter only from westbound Modoc.
- Palermo Road: exit only onto westbound Modoc.
- Veronica Springs Road (at Modoc): enter only from westbound Modoc.
- Veronica Springs Road (at Las Positas Road): enter/exit except for southbound Las Positas which is closed.
SBIM Mesa Area Detour Plan 7:45am – 1:30pm
- Cliff Drive: eastbound closed, westbound open.
- Meigs Road & Shoreline Ave.: eastbound closed from Elise Way, westbound open.
- Mesa Lane: Exit: 1) left to westbound Cliff Dr. or 2) right to left turn lane to left on Flora Vista. Enter: left hand turn from westbound Cliff Dr.
- Cooper Road & Mohawk Road: Closed.
- Palisades Road: Exit: left only to westbound
- Cliff Dr. Enter: from westbound Cliff Dr.
- Oliver Road & Cliff Drive: limited exit for traffic on east side of Oliver and north side of Elise Way.
- Oliver Rd. & Elise Way: enter southbound Oliver from westbound Elise Way.
- Oliver Road (south of Elise Way): follow detour and exit on Palisades.
