Abraham Kogo and Paige Higgins won the men’s and women’s titles at Saturday’s Santa Barbara International Marathon.
Kogo was the fastest runner on the 26.2 mile course, finishing less than a minute off the course record with a time of 2 hours, 23 minutes and 9 seconds.
The course record holder, Moninda Marube, finished fourth this year after winning the previous two years.
Higgins won the women’s race by over three minutes with a time of 2:48:34. Higgins’ time is a new course record, beating Andrea McLarty’s previous all-time best set in 2009 (2:52.23).

A Half-Marathon was also conducted today.
A new women’s course record was set by Alvina Begay. The new standard of?1:14:59 is nearly six minutes faster than the previous record.
Geofrey Terer won the men’s half-marathon in 1:06.59.
