Josie McCoy’s 19 points was not enough to take Bishop Diego to victory on Friday night as the Cardinals fell 57-51 to Castilleja of Palo Alto in a Mission Prep Tournament game.
Jordyn Lilly scored 11 and Greer Shull added 10 for the Cardinals. Colleen Duley and Sam Gaasch also drew praise from head coach Jeff Burich.
Bishop Diego led by a basket at halftime but was outscored 21-10 in the third quarter while having difficulty defending the low post.
Bishop (0-3) plays two games on Saturday starting with Moorpark at noon.
