Omar Montalvo scored the lone goal for Dos Pueblos in a 2-1 season-opening boys soccer loss to Oxnard on Wednesday at Girsh Park.
Montalvo, a senior striker, scored off an assist from sophomore Tim Heiduk in the 78th minute.
Oxnard took the lead in the 11th minute on a counterattack goal and added a second goal in the 73rd minute on a shot to the near post.
Dos Pueblos coach Matt York praised the play of fullback Robert Bertha, who played well in the back and was a threat on offense with his overlapping runs up the sidelines.
