Warriors take record to 18-0

In the last regular season home match for Carpinteria High seniors Grecia Beltran, Cat Maldonado, Tess Pitzer and captain Erin Saito, the Carpinteria girls tennis team defeated a short-handed Santa Clara team on Tuesday 17-1.

Santa Clara forfeited nine sets right off the bat because the Saints didn’t have a complete lineup.

In singles, Tess Pitzer went 2-0 and did not drop a game. Kassandra Ni and Natalie Saito each went 1-0. Grecia Beltran went 1-1 and played a great first set against the Santa Clara No. 2 player.

In doubles, Merissa Souza/Cat Maldonado and Erin Saito/Kelsie Bryant and Emily Saito/Makenna Pike each went 1-0.
