A strong start set the tone for the Carpinteria girls volleyball team in its sweep over visiting Villanova on Tuesday.
The Warriors rolled to a 25-14 win and followed it with set scores of 25-20, 25-20 to improve to 5-1 in the Frontier League and 6-3 overall.
“We came out strong in game one, serving tough and passing really well to run our offense,” said Carpinteria coach Katie Julian. “In games two and three, we allowed a few service runs by a couple tough Villanova servers, but had the momentum the whole time.”
Erin Callaway paced the Warriors with seven kills, seven digs and three aces. Kylie Augerot had 10 digs and did a good job passing serves, said Julian.
