Madison Waddell had 11 kills and two aces on Friday night and Jenna Anderson added six kills and five aces as the SBCC women’s volleyball team cruised to a 25-4, 25-15, 25-13 sweep of Hancock in the Sports Pavilion.
The 20th-ranked Vaqueros (10-6, 4-0 WSC North) have won their last eight matches, including six by sweep. They’ve captured 24 of 27 sets during that run.
They’re 3-1 at home this year and 34-4 in the last 38 in the Sports Pavilion.
Ari Garner had eight digs and Ali Stoltz chipped in with three kills and three digs.
SBCC opened the match on a 16-0 run with Jenna Anderson serving 16 straight times.
“We controlled the match from the start,” noted coach Ed Gover. “We showed solid team consistency and didn’t make many errors.”
The Vaqueros will complete the first round of WSC play with a big match against Moorpark on Wednesday at home. First serve is at 7 p.m.
