SBCC battled No. 7 Oxnard to a 0-0 tie on Friday in a WSC men’s soccer match at Oxnard.
The third-place Vaqueros (7-5-3, 5-3-3) are unbeaten in their last six games with a 4-0-2 record. Oxnard improved to 11-2-2 and 9-0-2. The Condors lead the WSC with 27 points, followed by L.A. Mission (19) and SBCC (18).
“We played very well in the first 25 minutes and it could have been 2-0,” said coach John Sisterson. “We had one shot cleared off the line three times and Dan Flitcroft had a solid shot that went just wide of the post.
“In the second half, Ismael Guzman made a great save with an outstretched arm on a header. The boys did well today on a slippery surface.”
Sisterson praised the play of midfielder Adam Colton.
The Vaqueros travel to Glendale on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. game
