Santa Barbara surfer Lakey Peterson, recent champion at the U.S. Open of Surfing, could use the community’s help in being recognized as one of the most popular female surfers on the planet in the 2012 SURFER Poll.
Each year, SURFER Poll honors the Top 10 Men and Top 5 Women in the sport, as chosen by surfing fans in an online ballot.
Voters can get lucky and receive weekly prizes from GoPro, New Era, Verizon and Martin Guitars each week that they complete a ballot.
Peterson is looking to crack a top-five that in 2011 included overall winner Carissa Moore, Coco Ho, Stephanie Gilmore, Alana Blanchard and Sally Fitzgibbons.
