Freshman Charlotte Skjonsby carded an 83 on Monday, leading SBCC to a third-place showing in WSC No. 7 at Tierra Rejada Golf Club in Simi Valley.
Megan Herrera shot 91 and Jackie Ramirez had 92 for the Vaqueros, who totaled 370. Glendale edged Canyons 323-326 for first place.
Glendale (27-1) and Canyons (22-6) have locked up the top two spots for the Southern Cal Regional. Bakersfield is third at 11-17, one game ahead of SBCC (10-18).
Pattraporn Silawanna of Glendale was the medalist at 76.
“We’ve been improving lately,” said coach Chuck Melendez. “We would have done better if it weren’t for a couple of blow-up holes. Everything felt better today, although our score didn’t show it.”
The 36-hole WSC Finals are set for Sunday and Monday at Sundale CC and Kern River GC in Bakersfield. They will also hold WSC No. 8 and 9 on each day.
