Skjonsby has SBCC in third at WSC Championships



Charlotte Skjonsby shot 84 on Sunday and SBCC is in third place after one round of the WSC Championships at Sundale CC in Bakersfield.

Megan Herrera added an 88 for the Vaqueros, who totaled 364. Glendale won WSC No. 8 with 310 strokes and Canyons was a distant second at 344.

Glendale (31-1) clinched the WSC regular-season title with one match remaining. Canyons is second at 25-7 and SBCC and Bakersfield are tied for third at 12-20.

Glendale’s Pattraporn Silawanna was the medalist at 73.

“We played a little better today,” said SBCC coach Chuck Melendez. “About half our players hit the ball better but it didn’t show up in our scores.”

The final round and WSC No. 9 will be played Monday at Kern River GC.
