Oliver Toole, a junior at Stanford and a graduate of Santa Barbara High, won the men’s single-handed sailing title at the Pacific Coast Championships last weekend in Long Beach.
Toole and Stanford teammate, Kieron Chung, finished 1-2 in the competition and qualified for the single-handed national regatta in two weeks in Long Beach. They will be racing against 18 of the top collegiate sailors in the laser class.
Toole was named an All-American and all-conference skipper as a sophomore as he helped Stanford win a conference-first six league titles and advance to the team national championships in Austin, Texas.
