Tess Pitzer turned in a strong performance to help Carpinteria beat visiting Villanova 17-1 in a girls tennis match on Thursday.
Pitzer’s play was recognized by coach Charles Bryant.
“I was especially glad to see No. 3 singles player Tess Pitzer starting to play like her old self with punishing groundstrokes and a hard, reliable serve. She played her best sets of the year,” said Bryant.
Kelsie Bryant had a golden set, not losing a single point.
The Warriors (16-0, 8-0) figure to get a tougher match on Friday against Cate.
