For the first time ever, Laguna Blanca and Providence Hall clashed in a girls volleyball match on Tuesday.
The more seasoned Owls proved too tough, recording a 25-9, 25-21, 25-19 victory in the Condor League match.
Laguna’s leaders were Hannah White with nine kills, Grace Woolf with eight, and Bella Taron collecting 14 digs.
“It was really fun to play a good team,” said Lions head coach Laura Trudelle. “I thought our girls played better than we have in a long time; we learn from playing teams like Laguna.”
Laguna Blanca is 5-3, 2-0.
Maddie Niessen’s recorded a match-high 21 digs while Ozie LeSage collected four kills, two blocks and an ace. LeSage and Niessen have been playing well for the Lions (8-5, 1-3) this season.
“They play with a lot of heart, you can always count on them playing really hard,” Trudelle said.
