In a matchup between the No. 4 and No. 5 girls tennis teams in CIF Division 1, Santa Barbara High fell 14-4 to visiting Peninsula on Friday.
“We played points well, but we weren’t able to string together games and sets,” said Dons coach Steve Geremia.
No. 4 Peninsula is loaded with players holding high Southern California and even national rankings.
“There’s no doubting the quality of their team,” Geremia said.
For the Dons, Kaitlyn Rodnick, Lisa Santry and Karina Thornton were singled out for their strong play on Friday.
