What Larry is talking about is part of a larger issue affecting millions of sports fans in Southern California. After doing a little digging, it looks as though Time Warner is asking for $3.95 per subscriber. More media coverage about the situation can be found HERE, HERE and HERE.
OCTOBER 24 UPDATE: The L.A. Times just published an update on the situation, saying Cox and Time Warner are still at an impasse just one week before the regular season begins.
Sunday is the first Lakers TV game and COX is not yet on board with Times Warner Sportsnet, so no viewing here in Santa Barbara.
Story is TW wants 85 cents per subscriber for exclusive Lakers TV transmission rights. It’s gonna hit the fan here when the real games begin the end of the month after the exhibition season ends.
