Cydney Pierce and Sumner Walker combined for 11 aces, leading Cate to a 25-23, 25-14, 25-7 sweep over Dunn in a Condor League girls volleyball match on Wednesday.
The Rams’ victory sets up a first-place showdown with Laguna Blanca on Saturday at Laguna. Both teams are unbeaten in league.
Tamsyn Walker led the Cate attack with nine kills and Pierce added six kills and six aces. Mattews had five aces.
“We mixed up the lineup a bit and tried some different things,” coach Greg Novak said. “We put people anywhere on the court and had things work, which was nice.”
Cate is 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the Condor League.
