Carpinteria’s 12-6 victory over Nordhoff on Wednesday clinched the Warriors’ second-straight Frontier League title.
Carpinteria, 19-0, has been unstoppable this season. Leading the way has been Kelsie Bryant, who went 3-0 on Wednesday to make her season record 54-0. The total games score in her past 25 sets has been 150-0.
Kassandra Ni won her first-round set in a tiebreaker and finished 3-0.
The doubles team of Erin Saito and Lesly Zapata had been undefeated all season until getting knocked off in the first round on Wednesday. They came back to win their final two.
“They have worked hard during the summer and fall and it paid off with their second league championship in a row after the 34 year drought,” said Warriors coach Charles Bryant.
Carpinteria faces Orcutt Academy next week. The Warriors also have players competing in the Frontier League Individual Tournament on Thursday.
