Tessa Binkley has been appointed as head coach of the Bishop Garcia Diego High School Girl’s Soccer Program.
Athletic Director Dan Peeters announced the appointment to fill the position vacated by Brent Gonsalves, who resigned after a five year stint at the helm of the Lady Cardinal Soccer program due to scheduling conflicts with this primary job.
Dan Peeters stated, “Although Brent’s departure is a big loss to us, I am excited to see Tessa pick up the reins and further build on Coach Gonsalves’ success”.
Binkley, a four year Varsity player at Dos Pueblos High School and stand-out at Santa Barbara City College, received a full scholarship to play division one soccer at Cal State Northridge. At Northridge, she was second in goals and points during her senior year (2006). For the past four years, Binkley has been the Head JV coach at Bishop Diego.
Binkley’s promotion creates an opening at the JV Head Coaching position. If you are interested in more information regarding this position, please contact Dan Peeters
