Dos Pueblos’ girls golf team survived its closest match of the Channel League season on Tuesday, besting Buena at Olivas Links in Ventura 223-232.
The result makes Dos Pueblos 6-0 in league play, 11-1 overall.
“We’re happy with our record but we know we need to get better for playoffs,” said Chargers head coach Rob Schiff.
Dos Pueblos had five scorers under 50, led by Bekah Beveridge’s 43. Miraya Ramirez and Mike Henrickson posted matching 44s.
Medalist honors went to Buena’s Lizzie Barminski, who carded a 42.
Jamie Sharpe (45) and Megan Caird (47) filled out Dos Pueblos’ scorecard.
“Overall we just had too many putts,” explained Schiff, whose team scored a season-low 205 last week. “We’re going to have to clean that up.”
It was the second match in two days for the Chargers, who defeated Santa Barbara on Monday at Glen Annie 209-245. Beveridge was again DP’s low scorer in that match, carding a 38.
Next up for the Chargers is Wednesday’s first round of Channel League individuals at Soule Park.
