Freshman opposite Jenna Anderson pounded 12 kills on Friday night and Ari Garner had 13 digs, leading SBCC to a 25-11, 25-12, 25-22 women’s volleyball sweep over L.A. Mission in Sylmar.
It was the third straight sweep and sixth straight victory for the 21st-ranked Vaqueros (8-6, 3-0 WSC North). Mission is 5-5 and 1-2.
Garner, a freshman setter, added five kills and 30 assists while Mackenzie Mexico had eight digs. Bianca Castro contributed three kills and five blocks, Jasmine Ward had four kills and Emily Banas recorded three aces.
“This was one of our best passing nights,” said assistant coach Armen Zakarian. “We played well and we got a lot of girls into the match.”
The Vaqueros will play a nonconference match vs. No. 19 Citrus on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the opener of a six-match homestand.
