Kelsie Bryant remained undefeated on the year and Kassandra Ni and Tess Pitzer won two singles matches to help the Carpinteria girls tennis team to a 10-8 win over San Luis Obispo on Saturday.
The Warriors won five matches in five days and improved to 12-0.
“This was a fun and exciting match with strong doubles play by SLO that helped carry their
team,” Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant said. “It was great for our girls to experience the strong doubles play with their different looks and strategies. Hopefully, it will help us get
stronger.”
Erin Saito-Lesly Zapata playing at No. 3 doubles today had to work hard for their three wins, with scores of 6-4, 6-4 and 6-3. Those were the only doubles points for the Warriors.
“Overall, I am very pleased with how all of the girls performed as this was not an easy week for
them. But they handled this tough stretch with great pride and determination. We saw a few areas we will need to work on and will address those issues this week. We have a very tough match against
Nordhoff on Tuesday,” said Bryant.
