SBCC posted two sweeps on Saturday to claim the consolation title of the L.A. Pierce women’s volleyball tournament. The Vaqueros (4-6) beat Saddleback 25-19, 25-7, 25-15 and then knocked off Palomar 25-22, 25-18, 25-14.
Emily Banas led the way against Palomar with six kills and seven digs. Bianca Castro had five kills and Mackenzie Mexico made seven digs. Erika Bellitt served four aces and Jasmine Ward had three.
In the first match, Banas had 10 kills and eight digs while Jenna Anderson had seven kills, 10 digs and three aces. Setter Ari Garner dished out 30 assists.
The Vaqueros travel to Canyons on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match.
