Santa Margarita was too good for Santa Barbara High’s girls volleyball team on Friday night, topping the Dons 21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-17 in a non-league matchup.
“To take the first game off them was a really good sign for us,” said Dons head coach John Gannon, who called Santa Margarita easily one of the top five high school teams in Southern California.
“They’re a really well polished team.”
Frankie Lewis tallied 11 kills for Santa Barbara.
Libero Bailey Roach collected 19 digs and Gannon said Emma Mascari served tough and set a consistent match.
Santa Margarita improves to 3-0 on the season while Santa Barbara falls to 1-2.
