In their longest road trip of the season, Dos Pueblos couldn’t become the first team to trip up San Juan Hills this season, falling 27-14 to the Stallions on Friday night.
Jacob Gibson threw a pair of touchdowns and Kyle Mucerino was on the receiving end of two scoring plays, one from Gibson and the other on a trick play from Scott Hoover.
The Chargers fell behind 7-0 in the first quarter but tied the game on a 22-yard touchdown run from Dylan Rohde. Down 20-7, Dos Pueblos scored its second touchdown of the night in the third quarter on a 34-yard pass from Nolan Soto to Malcolm Cellard-Farrall.
Dos Pueblos (4-2) opens its Channel League season next Friday against San Marcos.
The Chargers’ two losses have come to teams with a combined record of 11-0.
