San Marcos placed 11th out of 33 teams at the San Luis Obispo girls volleyball tournament on Saturday.
“It was an overall great tournament for us,” said coach Erica Downing. “We were led by Emily Allen. She played great and set the pace of play.”
In pool play, the Royals lost to Saugus (25-20, 25-14), beat Oxnard (25-19, 25-18) and lost to Oaks Christian (25-18, 25-19).
In the silver bracket playoffs, San Marcos knocked off Moorpark 28-26 and fell to La Reina 25-18.
Downing praised the play of Marley Miller.
“She came in the back row and served tough and was a vocal leader the entire weekend,” said the coach.
