Brittany Peretiako shot a career-low 49 to earn medalist honors for the first time, leading San Marcos to a 263-316 girls golf win over Orcutt Academy on Thursday at Santa Barbara Golf Club.
Freshman Remi Ho also shot a career-best with a 50, and the Royals improved to 4-3. (The Royals picked up a forfeit win against Oxnard)
“Our team is proud to be playing winning golf and, as the season continues, our girls now find themselves setting new personal and team goals,” said assistant coach Amato Recine. “With the current talent that we have, the potential to lower our scores into the 240s is right in front of us. Brittany shot a great round, improving her score by 7 strokes from her round at Orcutt earlier in the week.”
Melissa Jewkes shot a 51, Kelsey Gellert a 54 and Emily Peterson a 59 to round out the San Marcos scores.
“Freshman Remi Ho has really broken out, with consistently lower scores every match she has played in this season,” Recine said. “I am very impressed with her poise and progress. I’m confident our girls can carry this momentum into our next match vs DP next Tuesday”.
