Santa Barbara High’s girls golf team edged Rio Mesa at Birnam Wood on Tuesday by a six-stroke margin as Saralisa Ortega again led the Dons with a 43.
The Dons scored 264 to Rio Mesa’s 270. Par for the course is 180.
Ortega, this week’s SBART Female Athlete of the Week, has been Santa Barbara’s low scorer in five of the Dons ‘ six matches.
The victory improved the Dons’ season record to 5-1 overall. The same two teams will meet again on Thursday in Ventura at Buenaventura Golf Course.
Alissa Crane’s round of 49 was Santa Barbara’s other sub-50 score.?Claudia Fanaro (51),?Christina Buchanan (59), and?Jessany Rodenas (62) completed Santa Barbara’s scoring.
