Former Santa Barbara High golfer Jack Perry won his first collegiate tournament on Tuesday, leading his Northwestern Wildcats to victory at the Inverness Intercollegiate in Toledo, Ohio.
The Wildcats won the three-day tournament, held at Inverness Country Club, in a field that included preseason No. 16 Florida State and No. 18 Kent State.
Perry’s scored a 2-over 73 on Tuesday to finish at 2-over 215 for the tournament (70-72-73). Kent State’s Kevin Miller was co-medalist.
The Northwestern junior was a key part of Santa Barbara High’s State Championship in 2009.
Wildcats head coach Pat Goos took to Twitter to commend Perry.
“Congrats to Jack Perry on his first collegiate win,” Goss tweeted. “Well done, Jack. Hopefully the first of many.”
