Carpinteria’s girls volleyball team pulled out a four-set victory over Hueneme on Thursday. The set scores were 25-23, 18-25, 27-25, 25-22.
Middle blocker Maddie Handy had a solid match with seven kills, two blocks and two aces Libero Kylie Augerot led the team with nine digs.
The Warriors won despite a lackluster performance, according to coach Katie (Dolge) Julian. They were coming off a tough five-set loss to rival Bishop Diego on Tuesday.
“We had trouble with consistency and a lack of energy,” said Julian. “We need to work on bouncing back from a tough loss. We came out on top tonight, but it was a struggle.”
