Kassandra Ni took games off Oaks Christian’s No. 1 singles player and the Carpinteria doubles team of Natalie Saito-Cat Maldonado won two sets and gave the Lions’ top team a battle on Wednesday
Their play helped the Warriors win the match 81-69 on games after the teams tied 9-9 in sets.
“We did have a strong day in doubles with the tandem of Erin Saito-Lesly Zapata sweeping their sets,” said Carpinteria coach Charles Bryant. “Merissa Souza-Emily Saito picked up valuable games in their losses to help the team clinch the win.”
In singles, Kelsie Bryant won her three sets and Tess Pitzer Jelvani played well despite being under the weather, said coach Bryant.
Carpinteria improves to 3-0.
