Carpinteria captured the consolation title at the Laguna Blanca girls volleyball tournament on Saturday.
After finishing third in pool play with a 2-4 record, the Warriors beat Buckley 25-9 Bishop Diego 25-16 and Nordhoff 25-19 in the consolation playoffs.
“Setter Allie Sundara was our ace leader with 10 and did a great job running the offense,” said assitant Katie Julian. “Outside hitter Erin Callaway played a great day overall, giving the team 6 aces, 16 kills and 15 digs.
“The team had its ups and downs, but they never stopped fighting,” Julian added. “This was a great preview of what we hope to see the rest of the season.”
