Freshman Megan Caird shot a 44 to lead the Dos Pueblos girls golf team to a 245-257 non-league win over Oxnard at a windy River Ridge Golf Course on Wednesday.
“Megan’s back was really sore as she was warming up, so at one point we talked about her possibly dropping out,” said coach Dan Choi.
Leah Dunn was right behind Caird with a 45.
“She has consistently been one of our better scorers so far this year,” said Choi.
Oxnard’s Kristi Diep was the medalist with a 37.
“We have had some great competitive matches with Oxnard over the years, and while these scores may not have been as low as in some years past, it is always a fun and competitive match-up,” said Choi.
Dos Pueblos improved to 4-1 on the season; Oxnard is 1-1.
