Bishop Diego took on bigger schools at the Royal Tournament and went 0-3 on Saturday.
“We knew that this was going to be a big learning curve for our program playing against bigger schools and athletes,” said assistant coach John Sener. “Once the girls settled down and realized they could play with this caliber of talent they competed and played well. If we can cut down on the unforced errors we win two or three of those games.”
The Cardinals were swept by Arroyo Grande, San Luis Obispo and Redlands Valley.
Annelise Morando and Emily Lash were Bishop’s offensive and defensive leaders.
“Once they settled down and found the speed of the game, our primary passers Madison Ballard, Erin Linehan and freshman Emily Lafitte did a great job of getting the ball to our setters,” Sener said.
JV setter, freshman Amara Parris, responded very well to the up-tempo of varsity volleyball, according to Sener
