Bishop Diego won two matches at the Laguna Blanca girls volleyball tournament on Saturday.
In pool play, the Cardinals split with St. Joseph (25-10, 19-25), lost to Saddleback Valley (6-25, 17-25) and defeated Santa Clarita Christian (25-15, 25-17). They beat Grace Brethren (25-15) in the first playoff game and then lost to Carpinteria (17-25).
“What keeps us in the matches we won was our passing and defense,” said coach John Sener. “Both of our defensive specialist, Madison Ballard and Erin Linehan, worked hard all day and provided our setter Grace Rennacker with setting options to run the offense.”
