Santa Barbara High’s girls placed seventh and the boys eighth at the Palos Verdes Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.
The meet format had runners entered in two-mile races based on the positions they hold on their team. There were seven races for boys and girls.
For the girls, Santa Barbara’s Bella Demachkie finished 10th in the race for No. 1 runners in a time of 14 minutes, 2 seconds. Ellen Upton placed fifth in her race in 14:32 and Chrisi Karam finished seven in her event in 14:18.
Bradley Apodaca ran the fastest time for the Dons boys, clocking 11:14 for a seventh-place finish in his race. Gustavo Bello finished fourth in his group in 11:18 and Andy Hunter placed fifth in his two-miler in 11:43.
