SBCC took seventh in the season-opening South Coast Classic women’s golf tournament on Monday at par-72 Olivas Park in Ventura.
Irvine Valley won the 18-hole event at 309. Defending state champion Palomar was second at 319, followed by Glendale (322) and Mt. San Jacinto (328).
Natascha Wiebe of Palomar was the medalist at 73. Freshman Megan Herrera led an all-new Vaquero squad with an 85. Charlotte Skjonsby shot 86.
The first Western State Conference meet was also held on Monday and Glendale beat Canyons 322-339 for the title. SBCC was third at 347.
Pattraporn Silawanna of Glendale was the medalist at 74.
SBCC returns to action on Friday and Saturday in the Desert Classic at Indian Canyon CC in Palm Springs.
