UCSB’s women’s volleyball team is hosting its Fall Invitational this weekend, welcoming UCLA, Idaho, Northeastern and Cal Poly to Santa Barbara for a weekend of early-season matches in the Thunderdome.
The Gauchos (2-1) opened their season last week at the Loyola Marymount Tournament, beating Iona and LMU but falling to UConn.
UCLA (2-0) is currently ranked No. 3 in the country after starting out as the preseason No. 1. The Bruins and the Gauchos will meet on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Bruins also play on Friday night at 7 p.m. against Northeastern.
UCSB has won the last three matches in Santa Barbara with the Bruins, but their last meeting dates way back to 1998.
UCSB also plays Idaho on Friday at 5 p.m., followed by a Saturday morning tilt with Northeastern at 11 a.m.
A three-day tournament pass costs $20 for adults or $15 for seniors and youths. Single-day passes are available for $12 and $9.
