Santa Barbara Triathlon hosted its long course competition on Saturday at East Beach and beyond, as hundreds of triathletes completed the 1-mile ocean swim, 34-mile bike and 10-mile run through Santa Barbara and Carpinteria.
Max Biessmann won the men’s race in 2 hours, 54 minutes and 19 seconds. Leroy Thomas, Andrew Maxwell, Jason Smith and Kyle Visin rounded out the top five.
Cortney Haile, from Santa Monica, captured the women’s title in 3:19:28.
Stacia Watson, Erika Lilley, Christine Bare and Jennifer Todd filled out the women’s top five.
The Santa Barbara Triathlon weekend continues on Sunday with the Sprint Course in the morning. The start and finish for Sunday’s race is the Cabrillo Bath House at East Beach.
