Goleta Valley South Little League’s 9/10 All-Stars made it 2-for-2 in the Sectional Tournament by defeating Santa Maria Northside 6-3 on Sunday.
The victory places Goleta Valley in Tuesday’s championship game to be played at El Rio Little League in Oxnard. GV’s opponent will be either Thousand Oaks or Santa Maria, teams GV has already beaten.
On Sunday, Goleta Valley used a four-run fifth inning to take control. With two outs, GV strung together five straight hits including a two-run single from Isaac Villareal.
Villareal started the game pitching and produced 2 1/3 innings of shut out baseball. Jack Winterbauer was credited for the win in relief. Jacob Galindo came on for the save in the sixth inning.
Tuesday’s championship game begins at 6:30 p.m.
