Goleta Valley South’s 9/10 All-Stars began the Sectional Tournament with a 9-8 victory over Thousand Oaks on Saturday, scoring five runs in the final two innings to rally for the win.
Jackson Haskell knocked in the winning run on a single in the bottom of the sixth that scored Jack Winterbauer. GV scored four runs in the previous inning on hits from Anthony Martinez, Isaac Villareal, Nate Feldhaus and Diego Sandoval.
Martinez was 4-for-4 in the game.
Brent Hyman earned the victory on the mound by throwing the final 1 2/3 innings for Goleta.
Next up for GV is SM Northside Little League on Sunday at 1 p.m.
