Foresters’ eight game winning streak snapped

After outscoring their opponents 53-8 during an eight-game winning streak, the Santa Barbara Foresters’ mojo dried up on Wednesday in an 8-0 setback to the Conejo Oaks.

Conejo broke out with four runs in the first and two more in the second inning. The Oaks’ Landon Hunt pitched a complete game and silenced Santa Barbara’s offense in a three-hitter.

Richy Pedroza, Cal Vogelsang and Arby Fields were able to get a tiny piece of Hunt with singles.

BOX SCORE

Eric Fisher led Conejo with three RBI and two runs scored in a 4-for-5 game. The Oaks totaled 14 hits on five Foresters pitchers.

It’s the most runs the Foresters have allowed since June 9.

Santa Barbara has a day off on Thursday before continuing play in the Santa Barbara Tournament on Friday. The tournament’s champion earns an automatic berth to the NBC World Series in August.
