Dos Pueblos Little League’s 13/14 Junior All-Stars delivered a 13-3 mercy-rule victory to Nipomo on Saturday, claiming the first game of the Sectional Tournament.
Michael Boelter not only reached base four times on offense and scored three runs, but Boelter also was the winning pitcher, throwing 4 1/3 innings for DP.
Dos Pueblos gained a 7-0 lead after three innings thanks to a six-run third inning.
Nipomo made some noise in the top of the fifth inning on a three-run home run. Outside of that, Dos Pueblos held Nipomo scoreless.
Chris Noggle was 2-for-4 for Dos Pueblos, including a home run and two RBI. Dustin Demeter was 1-for-2 with two walks and scored three times.
DPLL faces Conejo Valley on Sunday with a berth into Wednesday’s championship game on the line.
