Dustin Demeter and Gio Macias combined to drive in eight runs for Dos Pueblos Little League’s 13/14 Juniors All-Star team on Sunday in a 19-9 decision over Conejo Valley.
The result moves Dos Pueblos into Wednesday’s Sectional Championship, which will be played locally at Page Youth Center. First pitch is slated for 5 p.m.
Demeter was 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles. Macias went 2-for-5 and scored two runs, as did Demeter. Both tallied four RBIs. Jesus “Chuy” Carrillo scored three times for DP in a game that was shortened to five innings due to the mercy rule.
Dos Pueblos posted five runs in the second inning to take the lead for good. Every batter for DPLL reached base at least once and scored once while totaling 14 hits.
Conejo Valley now faces Nipomo for a chance to meet DP again in Wednesday’s championship.
