At the UC Irvine Salute To Scholar Athletes end-of-the-year banquet, former Santa Barbara High athlete Crosby Slaught was recognized as the school’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The award honors student-athletes who maintain a high level of academic excellence while participating in college athletics.
Slaught graduated from Santa Barbara High in 2007, where he was named the Channel League’s Most Valuable Player as a senior, as well as Santa Barbara County’s Player of the Year.
A double major in political science and sociology, Slaught just finished his senior season and completed his college career with a 23-10 record and 49 starts.
