At Huntsinger Park in Saticoy on Wednesday, Goleta Valley South Little League’s 11/12 All-Stars posted a 11-1 victory over Montalvo in a game that lasted only four innings due to the mercy rule.
Among GVSLL highlights, Jake Sofro and Sam Drew hit back-to-back home runs and starting pitcher Evan Kling struck out eight batters in four innings.
Drew added a single and double in other at-bats to total seven bases. Kevin Barker added two hits and two RBIs. Drew, Barker and Trey Tank are leading Goleta Valley’s offensive onslaught thus far in the Tournament batting 1.000, .667 and .667, respectively.
GVSLL can qualify for the championship round with a victory on Saturday against Foothill Little League.
