Isaac Oh launched a grand slam in the third inning for Goleta Valley South Little League’s 11/12 All-Star team on Monday, clinching an 11-0 mercy-rule win over Santa Paula in the opening pool-play game of the District 63 All-Star Tournament.
The was played at at Huntsinger Park in Saticoy.
Pitchers Trey Tank and Jake Sofro, and catcher Sam Drew, recorded multiple hits.
Tank and Sofro combined for the shutout. Tank, who will be available to pitch in the team’s next game on Wednesday, started and pitched 2 2/3 innings. Sofro closed out the game with 1 1/3 innings.
GVSLL, the two-time defending District 63 champion, faces Montalvo on Wednesday.
